Arsenal legend David Seaman has revealed which Chelsea summer signing he believes opposition players are scared of.
It was once again another busy summer for the Blues with a number of new faces coming through the door, the most expensive of which was Pedro Neto who cost £51.4m.
Joao Felix and Jadon Sancho along with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall also arived, along with players for the future in the likes of Marc Guiu and Renato Veiga.
Seaman believes opposition players are scared of Sancho
Chelsea will be hoping the attacking signings they made will make an impact over the course of the season as they look to win silverware and get back into the Champions League under Enzo Maresca.
Sancho, who arrived from Manchester United on deadline day on an initial loan deal, which will become permanent for around £25m if the Blues don’t finish in the bottom six of the league had a brilliant debut against Bournemouth.
He was introduced at half time in place of Pedro Neto and changed the game, with his performance capped off by setting up Christopher Nkunku for the winner.
Chelsea fans will be hoping to see more of that on a regular basis from Sancho over the course of the season and Seaman believes he’s the type of player the opposition are scared of.
“The fans were behind him, they were singing his name in that second half [against Bournemouth], quite rightly so his performance was great,” he said on his podcast Seaman Says.
“Trust me, a confident Jadon Sancho is a good player, players are scared of him, you can tell that.
“You can see the full back will go towards him and then back off because they don’t want to get embarrassed by a little trick, he’s got every trick in the book.”
Sancho could be in line for his start against West Ham on Saturday but there’s fierce competition for places in the wide areas and he will be competing with the likes of Neto, Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk for regular minutes.
