Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is currently enjoying a quieter period in his busy career reporting on transfers, but he can also turn his hand to offering some opinions as well.
Romano has been speaking about Chelsea and their squad build, forecasting how well he thinks The Blues will do this season after a summer of more transfer activity.
EXCL: Reece James recovery progress and exactly where he is – is there really a setback?
Chelsea have spent a lot of money since the new ownership group arrived at the club and really, we need to be seeing the results of that on the pitch this season in terms of success and getting results. They’ve spent so much that they now NEED Chelsea to be challenging at the very top once again.
Can they do it? Romano believes they can.
Chelsea to have a good season
In an interview with Caught Offside, Romano says:
“I think Chelsea got this decision [not selling] on Madueke right, and it’s part of a strong summer on the market overall for the Blues. I’d say they look better than last season – Jadon Sancho and Joao Felix are two great additions and of course they also added more players.
“I think they have a very good squad; they need to find the right balance under Maresca but I expect Chelsea to have a good season.”
Let’s hope Romano is right, as he so often is when reporting on transfer news. We could really use a successful season at Chelsea this season and some more new silverware arrive at Stamford Bridge.
