A journalist has just provided an update on one potential pending transfer deal in these final stages of the transfer window for Chelsea this summer.
Of course, the window closed weeks ago now in England and for other European leagues, but in some parts of Europe and the world, the window is still open, at least for now.

Chelsea cannot sign any more players, but they can still sell some. And that is what they are still trying to do this week and that is what The Athletic’s Simon Johnson has just provided an update for this Monday morning.
Fofana to Athens

Striker David Datro Fofana is still currently at Chelsea, even though we have not see anything at all from him even in training. Chelsea clearly want to move him on, and the options are reducing.
But could Greece provide a new home for the young forward?
As you can see above, Johnson reports that Chelsea and AEK Athens have stepped up talks to agree sale of David Datro Fofana before window closes in Greece on Wednesday.
It seems like they’ve got quite a bit to do to sort this deal out and get it over the line on time, but it very much does now look like Fofana could be off to play in Greece.
You wonder if we might hear about any other late deals for any other Chelsea players as well, with players like Ben Chilwell still very much still at Chelsea at the moment, although he is also nowhere to be seen.
