We are bound to soon be hearing about the next Chelsea striker saga due to the fact that they did not sign a new one in the summer transfer window despite the expectation that would happen.
They tried to sign Victor Osimhen on deadline day this summer but we all know what happened there and that one did not happen.

They could go back for him in January of course, if the rumoured break clause in his Galatasaray loan contract does exist. But they might also turn to other options.
As we approach January I am fully expecting more names and more rumours to come up as Chelsea are once again bound to be looking at potential new strikers to come in yet again. Will they finally sort it in January? they need to.
Jonathan David to come back on the radar?
Chelsea were heavily linked with Jonathan David in the summer window as well, but that just seemed to be interest and maybe an enquiry that didn’t end up leading anywhere at that time. but they might move back for him, and David has firmly opened the door to a Premier League move.
On his future this weekend, David said:
“Right now, we’re speaking with (LOSC president) Olivier Letang about a possible extension. We’ll see how that goes,” David — who drew level with Cyle Larin as Canada’s all-time top scorer on 29 goals with his strike in a 2-1 win over the USA — told The Athletic (via Sky Sports).
The striker added: “I’m open to anything. I think obviously the Premier League is regarded as one of the best leagues in the world.
“And for me, it’s not the Premier League or bust. I’m open to anything and every league has its challenges.”
