Jadon Sancho has had a tough couple of years, but his first game for Chelsea was promising.
Sancho came off the bench in the second half of the Blues’ game against Bournemouth and was impressive down Chelsea’s left.
He doesn’t beat people for speed on the outside, but he made life difficult for Cherries defenders with his movement and link-up with teammates.
His assist to Christopher Nkunku owed a lot to the Frenchman’s individual effort, but still required a well placed move and pass into his feet from Sancho.
He ended up winning Sky’s Player of the Match award, despite playing just half the game. He and Joao Felix provided a different threat, and it proved to be an effective one as the home team sat deeper towards the end. Let’s hope for more of this.
