£30m Chelsea star’s lifestyle changes and training ground work have seen him hit new level

Cole Palmer always steals the headlines, but Nicolas Jackson is having another great season.

In his last 17 games in the Premier League, the 23 year old has 11 goals and 5 assists. He’s one of the top 9s in the league, just a year after arriving in the division, and just two years after really starting out as a senior level player.

Football.London have a good article on him today, where they claim that part of his success is down to an improved “lifestyle.”

“In the last couple of years, Jackson has changed his lifestyle for the better, football.london understands. The striker has established some positive habits in terms of physical and mental health; including more rest, better nutrition and a set daily routine,” the piece reads.

“Jackson tries to sleep at an early time in order to get eight hours of rest every night. His recovery management includes specific treatments and exercises, while every meal he eats includes protein, carbs and vegetables as well as keeping properly hydrated throughout the day.”

Well who knew that’s all it took!

Jackson’s improvement down to more than just veggies

It’s funny that they put the change down to his eating habits. We’re sure eating your greens helps, but it’s also more that the dietic change shows that Jackson is taking his self improvement seriously, and that’s showing up in his game.

It must he hours on the training pitch and getting individual coaching on technique, plus video analysis, plus just the sheer match experience of playing so many top level minutes after a late arrival in the men’s game.

Jackson just looks more composed and effective with every 90 minutes that passes. He started raw and is now on his way to being really polished.

Here’s to more green smoothies – and more goals – from the £30m signing who looks like better value every time he hits the net.
