€15m Chelsea ace gives one major reason why he believes Enzo Maresca is a top coach

Cesare Casadei has been speaking about life at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca and explained why he believes the Italian is a top coach.

Casadei arrived at Chelsea from Inter Milan for an initial fee of £12.6m, but has featured sparingly for the Blues over the past two seasons.

The midfielder has had loan spells at both Reading and Leicester, where he worked under Maresca last season before being recalled in January.

The 21-year-old was expected to be one of the players who left the club in the summer and despite fierce competition for places in midfield the Italian remained at the club.

Opportunities are likely to be few and far between for Casadei this season and he’s yet to play a single minute in the Premier League.

Maresca has given Casadei minutes in the cup competitions and the former Inter man played the full 90 minutes against both Barrow and Gent recently.

Casadei has recently said that it was his decision to remain at the club and it’s admirable that he wants to stay and fight for his place, but he faces an upward battle to get regular minutes in the Premier League.

Despite a lack of match action it appears Casadei is happy with life at Chelsea and in a recent interview he explained what he likes about working under Maresca.

“I like the way he sees football,” he told Tuttosport as quoted by Football Italia.

“We are working well under his guidance. I think he is a top coach because he can get the best out of everyone.

“He’s exigent as you expect him to be. We are at Chelsea and we have great expectations.”

Casadei featured sparingly last season after he was recalled from Leicester in January and only played 71 minutes over the second half of the campaign under Mauricio Pochettino.

The former Inter man is likely to next feature for the Blues in their Conference League game against Panathinaikos later this month and will have to really impress in the opportunities he’s given to get anywhere near getting minutes in the league.
