Frank Lampard has admitted that he was the one who signed Kai Havertz for Chelsea, and he has backed his ability again this week.
Lampard was speaking ahead of Arsenal’s 2-0 Champions League win against PSG last night, a game in which Havertz actually scored in.

The Arsenal man has been playing as a striker for The Gunners, and Lampard believes this was part of the problem at Chelsea – he hadn’t nailed down a regular position and nobody knew where he should be playing.
Havertz always had the talent
As seen in this short clip on Amazon yesterday, Lampard said he told some Arsenal friends when they signed him that Havertz had a lot of talent.
“Trust me he’s a talented boy he just needs to work the Premier League and find his way,” Lampard told them when Arsenal signed Havertz.
“I think when he came to Chelsea it wasn’t quite clear. He was a very talented player, his position wasn’t quite clear. He’d been a No 8 more of a midfield player, he’d been a No 9 and we never got to the end of his story at the Chelsea. What was his best position?”
