Chelsea have their goal to level things up at Anfield.
Enzo Maresca sent his men out for the second half with one change to the team – Pedro Neto came on on the left. But it was Moises Caicedo who provided the creative influence to slip in his teammate Nicolas Jackson to give his team an equaliser.
Jackson didn’t flinch in front of goal – it was an unorthodox but clever finish, as he forced it in at the near post while falling, but it was ruthless too. The Senegal star was shocked to be called offside.
He was right. Ibrahima Konate’s long leg was stretched out just a little too far, and Jackson’s smart bending of his run (isn’t that something we’ve been begging to say) meant he was onside, after closer inspection by VAR. The goal was given on review, and the Blues are back in it.
You can see the goal in the clips embedded here:

Weak and fragile Chelsea immediately fumble lead after Jackson lifeline
From here, Chelsea have another chance to get a grip on this game. They started the first half really well but couldn’t sustain it. They were caught out on the break by Liverpool’s counters, and they need to better this time.
UPDATE: Literally as we type, Liverpool have charged up the other end and scored through Curtis Jones. It’s such a pity – we were in a great position to sit deep and frustrate them and try to nick the game, but we’ve immediately given a goal away. For all the positives in attack, there’s still a massive lack of solidity in defensive transition and in defence.

Usual crap, due to brainless YANKS buying below average players. Rubbish defenders, but still after 2 years front men unable to shoot straight when it mattered. Round the side, over the top, straight at the keeper. Plenty of chances to level up, and even to pinch a win. USELESS GET RID OF THE YANKS AND GET IN SOMEONE WHO KNOWS ABOUT FOOTBALL.
