“Change 20, 30 players in 2 or 3 windows” – Graham Potter aims dig at Chelsea owners

Former Blues boss Graham Potter has been having his say this week and as a result, has taken a dig at the way the Chelsea owners operate.

To be honest I think that what Potter is saying here will probably resonate with many Chelsea fans as well, because many of us were saying the same thing at the time.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea stepping up pursuit of Premier League striker – not Evan Ferguson!

Things seem good at Chelsea and for Chelsea this season so far. They’ve signed quality players, they have also added some more proven players as well, but they a young and talented core. Under Enzo Maresca, things seem to be going much better.

Before Maresca though, Mauricio Pochettino and also Potter, came and failed at Chelsea, with both getting the sack come the end.

But Potter makes a valid point explaining why there was a lack of stability in the team when he came in to the club.

Chelsea’s owners spent millions

Potter’s dig is actually a good point made

When the new owners came in and took over at the club, they just spent and spent and spent on new players, and they still are doing that really to an extent.

But Potter believes there was just too many changes and too many new signings to be able to keep some sort of sustainability within the squad.

Speaking on the High Performance Podcast today, Potter said:

“If you change 20, 30 players in 2 or 3 windows. The instability of that is hard to deal with.

“My job as a coach was to improve what we got as it was, we took a different decision, which is another 7 players, and then you’re like, Okay, we’ve got to start again here.”

I think he’s spot on here. We could have been much better much sooner if there was more balance with our squad build in terms of many things.
