Nicolas Jackson scored his 7th goal of the season today against Leicester, but it was a hard fought match which was in the balance until Enzo Fernandez grabbed our second.
“Yeah, sometimes the game is like this, so the most important thing is that we won the game and we’re going home with the 3 points,” the striker said when asked for his thoughts on the game by TNT Sport.
“We know the month of December and November there are always a lot of games, so we try to recover and prepare for the next one coming.”
Asked about his goal, the Senegal star was asked if it was about pace or persistence:
“Yeah it was both. I saw the danger and I went for it – the ball came and Enzo gave it to me and I finished quickly. I’m working every game to score and try to help the team win always.”
You can see the striker speaking in the clip embedded here:
🗣 "We're not looking at the teams in front of us, we're just trying to win every game."

Enzo and Jackson put on the spot about Chelsea title race
Also interviewed was Enzo Fernandez, who was bizarrely asked about his “first goal for Chelsea” – it’s not even his first in the league.
“I’m very happy for the team, and for the win most importantly. I’m very happy for Nico, who got an assist. We keep going, we keep working, we keep pushing,” the midfielder said.
Then the clincher – we’re just 6 points off the top of the table now. But are the players thinking about a title race? Not according to Nico:
“No, we don’t look at the teams ahead of us. We just try to win every game and in the end we see how it goes.”
That’s the stock answer, but it’s also the correct one. We’re doing well beating expectations this season – the last thing we want to do is raise them.
