(Video): Pedro Neto fizzes brilliant shot into bottom corner to equalise for Chelsea

1-1 at Stamford Bridge!

Chelsea will take it. They haven’t put much together in an attacking sense today. But Pedro Neto – who has been our most productive attacker all day – was the one who got us back into the game. He nipped infield and smashed a left foot shot low back across goal, between defenders and beyond David Raya’s reach.

Switching him from the left to the right allowed him to cut inside like that.

It was so clear how much it means to the Portuguese. He was pumping his fists like a wild man. After being in and out of the team early on at Chelsea he’s finally earned his starting spot and has probably cemented it with that effort.

You’ll note it was an Enzo Fernandez assist,  just moments after the Argentine came on. It was not his most jaw dropping pass but a useful and well weighted ball into a central area which allowed Neto to take the shot on easily counted for a lot.

Chelsea must ride momentum to vital win

Chelsea were a little unlucky to be behind – but now they need to capitalise on the momentum and energy that has been brought to Stamford Bridge by that equaliser.

This team needs a statement win against a top team – so far they’ve struck out against Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool. A draw today is fine – but it doesn’t tell us much we don’t already know. A win, from a losing position no less, would be massive.

There’s plenty of time left to do it, and so much quality on the bench to help out too.
