Pundit calls out “illumines like Tim Sherwood” for criticising Chelsea and backs up stance

One pundit has called out Tim Sherwood and others who might have dared criticise Chelsea in recent times, and there was a lot of them.

To be fair, Chelsea have been terrible before this season, I don’t think people should forget about that. It’s been pretty toxic for the last few seasons since the new owners came in, and many mistakes were made.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea stepping up pursuit of Premier League striker – not Evan Ferguson!

But yes, things are certainly now heading in the right direction under Enzo Maresca and things are starting to come together. It is a long season of course, but the early signs are there that this Chelsea project is starting to tick a little bit more.

I think the criticisms at the time were mostly fair. Some were extreme, as you will always get. But the observations were generally quite fair of where Chelsea were at at that time. Now they are much better. It’s fine to just call it how it is.

There was one pundit though who was always backing Chelsea to come through, and fair play to him.

Jordan calls out Sherwood and coImage

talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has been speaking on the show this week, and he’s had great pleasure in telling us all that he told us so! And like I say, absolutely fair play to him for calling this at the time, sticking with it, and now seeing it potentially coming true in the near future if Chelsea can keep this progression going.

Jordan said on Chelsea: “The team looks better. They look like they’ve gelled. All the so called troubles and all the conventional wisdom and all the orthodoxy that laughed and sneered last year when I said, Chelsea will be competitive and competing for the premier league and potentially winning it in three years, by people like such renowned illumines like Tim Sherwood, observed, observing that was a ridiculous observation. Now, you’ve got a team that’s potentially in that space already.”

  1. He’s telling YOU too, Simon, lol! You and SuperFrank did nothing but deride the “Yank” ownership and the players they brought when many of us saw from the outset that such a young just needed time. So where is YOUR admission that maybe there was a method to the owner’s madness all along and that you owe them a monumental apology for the insanely negative criticism these past two years? Because it’s not just that we’re sitting third (and deservedly so), but that, with (by far) the youngest squad in the league, we have HUGE upside potential for most of the next decade! And that’s all down to how the ownership prioritised youth and signed them to long-term contracts. You guys howled for two years about the insanity of the player acquisition policy so how about publicly admitting how wrong you got it?
