Bizarre report on new Chelsea signing with player not expected to get many minutes

The transfer window slammed shut last night for English clubs to do business, and it marked the end of a very bland window for Chelsea.

Has the money gone dry? Are they just concerned with PSR? Or are they genuinely just mainly happy with the squad that they have? If it is the latter then all the decision makers at the club should not be working in football anymore.

Sources: Chelsea plan to look at goalkeeper setup ‘from top to bottom’ this summer + new CB targets NAMED!!

Chelsea still need a spine added to this squad, and the majority of the people I speak to know that.

They did make some sales though, although I say sales, it was mainly just loans.

Players such as Ben Chilwell, who got a late loan move to Crystal Palace in the end, and Joao Felix, who got his loan move away to AC Milan, will now spend the rest of the season playing more football than they would have got at Chelsea. But we will face all these same problems yet again trying to sell players in the summer when they all return from their loan moves.

Another player who finally got his loan move away was Axel Disasi, who had been pushing for a move all window as well but at one point looked like he was going to be forced to stay at Stamford Bridge until the summer at least.

Chelsea did sign a 19-year-old midfielder with 8 senior league appearances to his name from Saint-Etienne.

They paid £12.5m to land Mathis Amougou, but it doesn’t sound like he is going to play much!

The Athletic report the £12.5m paid out for Mathis Amougou is geared more towards him learning the style of play and what Chelsea is all about before he is loaned to Strasbourg next season. Do not expect him to get many minutes as Chelsea see him as one for the future, says the report.

Haha, what now!?
