Chelsea face Brighton at the Amex in just over an hour, and the teams are in!
The first question for Enzo Maresca was in goal – but as he told us confidently yesterday in the press conference, Filip Jorgensen is now the league keeper, and he keeps his place between the sticks
Ahead of him, things get interesting once again. Trevoh Chalobah went right into the team after he was recalled from Crystal Palace, then dropped out again, and now is back in, playing alongside Levi Colwill with Tosin Adarabioyo back on the bench.
At right back, Reece James was rested in last week’s game but stays on the bench again this time out, with Malo Gusto keeping his place. We know from Maresca’s presser that James is fit, so this is an interesting decision. Marc Cucurella plays on the left, as usual.
In midfield, it’s Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, as ever, with Cole Palmer just ahead of them.
The front line sees Jadon Sancho out of the picture, with Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke flanking Christopher Nkunku up top.
Here are the full team line-ups for Brighton vs Chelsea (kick off at 20:15 GMT)
CHELSEA:
The big question tonight will be how Chelsea get Nkunku involved, he’s the closest thing they have left to a striker, but in last week’s game against this same opposition he was totally isolated and kept dropping deep to try and get involved.
Maresca has had a whole week to work with the team to try and create a system which works a bit better for the Frenchman – now we get too see if the manager is earning his wage. It’s a big test tonight – dropped points will only deepen the growing fears about the rest of this season.
