Report: Chelsea are in contact already to make yet another new midfield signing

Chelsea are reportedly making contact to sign yet another new midfielder already after having just signed a new one on deadline day.

Chelsea had a pretty quiet transfer window in the winter despite people like Romano and others telling us that it was going to be very busy! It was the opposite from busy in the end. Other than some dry loan deals done for players such as Ben Chilwell, who joined Crystal Palace on deadline day in the end, and Axel Disasi, who also went to another Premier League side in the shape of Champions League chasing Aston Villa, there really wasn’t much more than happened, especially in terms of new arrivals which the squad actually needed.

EXCLUSIVE! The SIXTEEN players Chelsea made attempts on trying to sign in January but failed!

As I said above though, they did make one new signing in the shape of 19-year-old midfielder from France, Mathis Amougou from Saint-Etienne.

In midfield as well, Chelsea also have Romeo Lavia, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, and both Andrey Santos and Lesley Ugochukwu out on loan. So there are plenty of midfielders who are there and that is without even motioning Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who is still at the club, and Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku who also play in midfield at times, or all the time in Palmer’s case. They are now stacked there but still lack a true physcial defensive midfielder in my opinion.

According to Relelvo reporter Rodra, Chelsea are in contact with Sporting Lisbon over the future signing of Dario Essugo.

He is another young midfielder with not much senior playing experience who is another player for the future. But he is a player who looks like he can player in a deeper role and is actually quite similar to Moises Caicedo I guess.
