Chelsea need to show they are serious again by signing star for £54m – opinion

Chelsea need to once again show they are serious in the market and serious in world football by signing one start for around £54m this summer.

Today we face Leicester City in the league after winning out last two matches, with a big away win on Thursday night.

The Blues beat Copenhagen 2-1 away from home in the first leg of their round of 16 clash in the Conference League, but it was not a good performance at all from Enzo Maresca’s side.

EXCLUSIVE! Calibre of Chelsea’s summer transfer targets rests on a few key elements – names and details inside!

There was some positives of course, especially with the two goals. A lovely finish by Reece James was followed up by some good work by youngster Tyrique George to assist Enzo Fernandez to score the second goal.

But unfortunately there were more negatives than positive, with one being Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who was once again just terrible, there is no other way to describe it.

Time to show they are serious

Chelsea sign a lot of young players with potential who may or may not come good at some point, but they need to show they are serious in the market once again by signing a player who will be 27 by the time they can sign him in June, Viktor Gyokeres.

He will give them the needed elevation in attack and make a key difference there – and according to Fabrizio Romano, will be available for between £54m-£62m this summer.

Romano said this week:

“Many top clubs are ready to present their project to Viktor Gyokeres who will go for a price between £54m-£62m, a fantastic price for one of the best goal scorers in Europe.”

And he’s spot on here, that’s an amazing price for a prolific goalscorer that would go a little way in showing fans how serious they are again for the here and now and not just the future.

  1. Today formation is bad news for CFC . Plus with dodgy keeper . It should be 3 man midfield two solid defender in midfield and Enzo should lead the attack from midfield . I don’t reta this manager . He is average .
