World Cup winning midfielder Denilson has been raving in the Brazilian press about winger Estevao Willian, who is set to join Chelsea this summer from Palmeiras.
“Endrick will be one of them, but I’m excited about Estevão, who is going to Chelsea. English football has changed and his style will adapt well. He’s intelligent, a great dribbler and he can score goals. He’s a great signing,” he said in quotes picked up by CaughtOffside.
The soon to be 18 year old looks a truly brilliant prospect. He’s shone in the Brazilian league since a ridiculously young age, and even in the eternally talented Brazil youth sides he looks a cut above. It’s a year since Chelsea signed him and we’ve been counting the days until we can see him in Blue.
The only fear would be that his talents don’t translate well to the Premier League – but as Denilson points out, this is not the English football of the 80s anymore.

He combines the two things that really get a fan hyped for a new arrival – firstly he’s clearly got huge potential. It’s not just Denilson who is bigging him up – every person you hear speak about him is convinced he has astronomical potential, and everything we’ve see on the pitch so far in his career backs that up.
But secondly it’s all about the type of player he is. An N’Golo Kante will be a crucial part of a winning team, but no matter how good a defensively focused player is, there’s nothing for a fan like signing am Eden Hazard type flairy dribbler to get the juices flowing.
