Expert claims Chelsea now have a lot of players they would “like to shift on” this summer

An expert has made a big claim this week and believes Chelsea have a lot of players they would like to shift on this summer.

The Blues are expected to be busy now this summer, and we have had plenty of updates floating around this week already.

EXCLUSIVE! Enzo Maresca has decided on the striker he wants to sign at Chelsea!!

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has put out his latest YouTube video at the weekend with a bunch of info in that. The main takeaway was Romano saying Chelsea are going to be in the market for a new striker, a centre back, and a winger in the summer.

And there has also been a lot of noise regarding Jadon Sancho and whether Chelsea will actually be signing him from Manchester United permanently in the summer or not. The Athletic are reporting that there is a £5m break clause fee that Chelsea can pay to send him back and terminate the loan obligation to buy.

If Chelsea do not get Champions League football this season though, we will be hearing more and more rumours around some of their bigger name players getting restless and potentially looking to leave. And this does make you wonder about some of the big names at the club.

Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider a lot of the players the club have signed on long-term deals aren’t working.

Borson insisted Chelsea would like to sell some of their stars on long-term deals.

He said: “They clearly still believe in very long contracts despite the situations that they found themselves in with [Mykhailo] Mudryk and many other players.

“It’s not like these players that they’ve signed on seven, eight-year contracts are all working.

“I would say they absolutely are not working and a lot of them they’d like to shift on.

“Looking from the outside, it still seems a very odd approach on the contract side.

“But to be fair, the detail of those contracts may allow for earlier exits than the full terms.”
