“I’ve been very disappointed” – Emmanuel Petit gives fair assessment on Chelsea and Maresca

Former Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit has given an honest and fair assessment of Chelsea and Enzo Maresca this season.

The Blues came from a goal down to score two very late goals to win the game 2-1 against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon in what was a very dramatic game of ups and downs. But for 80 minutes, it was a lot of downs for Chelsea and the woes were continuing. Thankfully, they managed to get two late goals from individual brilliance to win the game.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea eye move for Kevin De Bruyne!

Still, manager Enzo Maresca did not celebrate the Chelsea win over with the away fans like all the players did at the end of the game, which was very odd. But he has explained his reasoning for this in the post match press conference, although it wont wash.

The fans were furious throughout most of the game though and certainly let the manager and the players know this at half time and throughout the game. Pedro Neto responded to the fan anger in his post-match comments after the game on Sunday.

Chelsea fans have grown very frustrated with their teams performances over all since Christmas and many have turned against manager Enzo Maresca already.

Petit is disappointed but fair

As cited on SPTC today, the former Arsenal and Chelsea player Petit said:

“Chelsea have been through so many difficult things on and off the pitch for the last two or three seasons. They’re a good team with so many young players all together, but I’ve been very disappointed with the performances so far, with a lot of them.

“Some players have been injured for months now and other players have not performed very well. They splashed so much money on some players and I’m not happy with them at all.

“Cole Palmer has not been the same kind of player since January. So is it Enzo Maresca’s fault? I think they need to have a strong look at what needs to happen at the end of the season.

“Maresca is probably responsible for a few things. First of all, he said that his team was not able to win the Premier League a few months ago and I think that was a very bad message he sent to his players. Especially when you have so many young players.

“But in the meantime, I think a lot of players don’t take responsibility on the pitch and they aren’t showing character and personality to step up.”

  1. Enzo Maresca is not on the level of Chelsea FC if Roman Abramovic was still on the help of the affairs Enzo Maresca won’t ever be given the opportunity to come & mess things up this way he has done or if given by mistake aught to have been shown exit doors longtime ago. How can a Coach seating second on the table be telling his players they not for the Tittle, who does that? He plays his players out of their natural wings & most times bench them for a match you need a win, who does that?
Look at his selections & changes in a match, you will cry what a coach.
He sold Gallagher & brought in his boy from championship club, Patovic our main keeper he sent him on loan & kept calamity Sanchez. In fact, 89% of Enzo Maresca decisions you will he’s not a progressive man. Van you imagine him wanting to sign Delap for Chelsea FC meanwhile the likes of Victor Osimhen & the Sporting Lizbop Striker re all the market? Please I beg you sack Enzo Maresca now. He is a dezaster.
