CaughtOffside today have an exclusive on another attacking star being linked with a move to the Premier League, and Chelsea in particular.
They say that Ademola Lookman, the Atalanta forward, is certain to leave Serie A this summer, and has several Premier League clubs, including the Blues, keen on him.
He’s apparently set to become “one of the most-talked about names” in this summer window as the 27 year old searches for a career-defining big move back to the English top flight.
Barcelona have already apparently contacted his representatives, although given their financial situation and success with their current options, it’s hard to see him heading there. Meanwhile Juventus have apparently been put off by the €60m to €65m asking price.
In the Premier League it’s the usual suspects towards the top of the table looking to try and secure the wantaway Nigeria international: Man U, Liverpool, Newcastle, Arsenal and Chelsea are all mentioned specifically.
Lookman feels less likely than Gittens in Chelsea’s left wing race

Lookman has been a regular scorer and assister in his time in Italy, and has racked up 25 goal contributions this season. If we’re looking for pure output to make up for the disappointing results we can in that respect from Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke and Jadon Sancho, Lookman could be a good choice,
However given his age and the price tag being put on him, we really don’t see a move coming to anything, at least as it stands.
We see a move for Jamie Gittens as far more likely. He’s less proven, but also younger and cheaper, and we’d imagine that’s where we focus out attentions, at least early in the summer. We think Lookman comes to the Premier League – but probably not to Chelsea.
