Chelsea are prepared to offer Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens a lucrative contract which would see his current wages doubled according to reports.
The Blues are braced for another busy summer and could look to fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players.
Chelsea face a critical window as they look to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad.
Chelsea to offer Gittens lucrative deal
There’s set to be a lot of movement in the wides areas this summer, with the Blues yet to make a decision on Jadon Sancho’s future, whilst Noni Madueke is attracting interest from other clubs.
Estevao Willian will arrive in the summer, whilst it’s unclear if or when Mykhailo Mudryk will play for the club again following a positive doping test.
Chelsea have identified Gittens as a top target, and it’s believed they are in pole position to land the 20-year-old winger who could be available for around €60m.
Caught Offside have reported the Blued are prepared to offer Gittens a lucrative deal until 2030 which would double his current salary.
Gittens has had a productive season with 12 goals and five assists and it’s believed he’s informed the club he’d like to leave this summer.
The Blues currently have Carney Chukwuemeka on loan at Dortmund, but it’s thought the idea of a swap deal isn’t currently on the table.
Williams and Garancho alternative targets
Were the Blues to miss out on Gittens they have seemingly identified Nico Williams and Alejandro Garancho as alternative targets.
Williams is currently at Athletic Bilbao and has been described as a dream target, but it’s thought he wants £400,000 a week if he’s to move to the Premier League this summer which would be an issue for potential suitors.
Chelsea were strongly linked with Garnacho in January and those links seemingly haven’t gone away, although the Argentine has admitted he’s happy at Manchester United.
It will be interesting to see who Chelsea end up signing, but they really need a goalscoring winger to complement their current options.
