Report: Chelsea hopeful of signing £35m rated La Liga star who had breakout season

Chelsea are hopeful of landing Real Betis winger Jesus Rodriguez and have fallen in “love” with Spain under-21 international according to reports.

The Blues are once again set for a busy summer and have already signed Liam Delap from Ipswich after agreeing a £30m deal.

Chelsea face a critical window and could well sign another striker, but the club are also looking for a centre back and right footed attacker to bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad.

There’s set to be movement in the wide areas, with the Blues said to be open to offers for Noni Madueke, whilst Jadon Sancho has left the club.

Estevao Willian will arrive after the Club World Cup, but currently Chelsea’s only winger options are Madueke, Pedro Neto and Tyrique George.

Chelsea had multiple bid rejected for Jamie Gittens on Tuesday, whilst Alejandro Garnacho and Nico Williams are said to be names of interest.

However, it appears the Blues have another winger in their sights, and Mail Sport have reported Chelsea have “fallen in love” with Betis star Rodriguez.

The report adds Chelsea are hopeful of signing the 19-year-old this summer who’s set to star for Spain at the U21 Euros.

Chelsea have previously been linked with Rodriguez, and the Spaniard who managed three goals and two assists in 32 appearances in all competitions, is said to be valued at around £35m.

Jamie Gittens most likely to sign

It remains to be seen if Chelsea will go in for Rodriguez, but they will almost certainly revisit a deal for Gittens later this summer.

Chelsea have already agreed personal terms on a seven year contract with the England under-21 international and just need to agree a fee with Dortmund.

Gittens wants the move and is thought to be disappointed it didn’t happen in time for the Club World Cup with Dortmund sticking to their valuation of €60-€65m.

  1. You mean to tell me you’d rather go for this fellow instead of the Morrocan who tormented and scored against you in the first half of that final. What a bunch of laughing stocks…..I certainly know a good footballer when i see one just like Osimhen when he scored against us for Lille. I said why don’t we buy this guy. This striker is a monster. Look at what happened now….
