“Deal done” – Fabrizio Romano drops huge Chelsea transfer news after dramatic Blues win

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has dropped some huge Chelsea transfer news after a very dramatic Club World Cup game.

Chelsea beat Benfica in the first set of knockout rounds in the Club World Cup last night, but it was far from easy and also, very far from drama!

Sources: Chelsea keen on signing veteran goalkeeper this summer as a Mike Maignan alternative!

Enzo Maresca labelled it a joke that the game got suspended for two hours due to sever weather conditions and slammed the tournament location as a result, and he really does have a point here.

And then came a flurry of late goal with Benfica equalising deep into stoppage time through a penalty to send it into extra time. Chelsea then bagged a bunch of goals to go on and win the game before it got to penalties!

Chelsea win 4-1

The Blues won the tie 4-1 after extra time and will be glad to see the back of this one. It was a classic cup competition game with all the drama that came with it and a sending off too.

But there is no doubt that the weather and the long stoppages made it impossible for the players to refocus and continue the game.

Meanwhile…

After the game, Romano had some pretty big Chelsea news to deliver!

Finally, the Jamie Gittens transfer saga is close to actually being over, with Romano calling the here we go done deal on it.

Nothing has been announced yet of course, but it sounds like it soon will be.

Romano posted on X overnight:

‘Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has completed main part of medical as new Chelsea player as planned.

‘£55m deal done.’

£55m is a lot for Gittens, but he is a very promising young player and does suit what Maresca wants. Interesting though that they ended up paying what Dortmund have asked for all along.

  1. Chelsea have to take Djorje Petrovic as number 1 goal keeper because he is the only capable one that can do it as legendry Peter Cech does. Then, sign experience Victor Osemhen or Gyokerez, no matter the amount of money involved. CFC IS BIG.

      1. Very true opioid moses we should go all out to get victor osimhen simply the best since Drogba never been replaced

  2. Chelsea board are still joking with all of these babies signing. It is not all about signing players but signing good quality world star players is very important.. If the club can not sign the proving striker like victor osimhen then, the club is not ready for any success come next season, they are wasting their resources.

    1. Osimhem’s wage demands are extortionate, no deal will be reached, however Gyokerez should be bought along with The Benfica CB Antonio Silva (a real CB and only 22)

    1. I swear down the guy is very good nah this coach be mad man I swear I pray make he no sale the guy out ooo …. jao felix nah better player just need more playing time

  3. I honestly hope Jamie Gittens live up to expectations as CFC management anticipates.
Having signed a bunch of youth players, we need to compliment all these with an experienced striker like Osinhmen or Gyokeres.
There’s need to throw all this into the mix for maximum results.

  4. I need osihmen in that chelsea please ……
For God sake the guy is not asking for much please sign me osihmen

  5. We want Osimhen please ,this guy has proven to be world class striker ,he really has the eye of an eagle on the goal posts .

  6. ladies and gentlemen to substitute Captain James was a very big problem,b,se when enter in field captain takes another part, but i think coach is trying to compare James and Gusto and to me i think that impossible, coz James is among the best right back,so coach must work for that before primer league starts. Thanks guys !

  7. EPL is different from the leagues Osimhen dominated so far. He also struggled at Afcon. Chelsea must not buy him.

  8. I had high regards for the goalkeeping abilities of Petrovic. I really cannot understand why he was sent for loan to Strasbourg last season.
