Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has reportedly asked for a 32-year-old Premier League goalkeeper to be his new number one.
The news comes after Chelsea beat ES Tunis 3-0 early on Wednesday morning in the Club World Cup in America after Blues head coach Enzo Maresca named a rotated starting Xl to rest a few players.

Chelsea needed to avoid a defeat to progress to the knockout rounds of the competition, and they did that with ease in the end against an opposition that they were just much better than in terms of quality.
Marc Cucurella got a deserved rest in the game, with Josh Acheampong starting at left back instead, but before the game, the Spanish international was expecting another tough game. But it was far from that for Chelsea in the end.
Chelsea clearly want a new GK
They are being linked with and trying to sign far too many new goalkeepers this summer to not want to sign a new one. We keep hearing that they are happy with what they’ve got, but this is clearly the club trying to play it down so they don’t look desperate to sign a new one.
Maresca wants Martinez!
According to local broadcaster Christian Martin, Enzo Maresca wants Aston Villa goalkeeper as his new number one.
Martin says:
“Chelsea wants Emiliano Martínez as their starting GK, and Enzo Maresca has asked! Willy Caballero has also given the go-ahead. The player wants to stay in England, so it’s an option for Chelsea.”
Martinez would be a great signing for Chelsea and his experience and mentality at the back would be a huge addition for them.
Chelsea should buy a top striker either ekitike or osimhen all wingers do not get enougjh goals. Get a top striker and get the results.

Martinez, to Chelsea, is a good fit for the back line of the club. Chelsea have not had a better suit behind their defense since the departure of Thibaut Couthouo. Also, the blue will need a prolific/clerical goal scorer added to the new signing to allow them to compete in the big four. Chelsea had struggled for a better side even before their last Champions League title.
Since chelsea are adding up some more wingers why can’t them go for eberechi eze, is that guy not perfect wingers to compare the ones they have.
Martinez is a proven top keeper and Chelsea’s history of a good defence has always been built around the no1 postion .. from Cech as far back as Bonetti . He is a huge character and would be a big influence for such a young squad . IMO he is the missing part to the puzzle … Go get him !! Carefree
