Matt Law reveals Chelsea’s plan for their attack next season, it makes interesting reading

Chelsea want to begin next season with as many as nine attacking options, and haven’t ruled out singing another attacker if Noni Madueke is sold according to reports.

The Blues have been busy in the transfer window and have already made three attacking signings with Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro through the door.

Chelsea face a critical window and are still in the market for a centre back, whilst they could look to sign a goalkeeper and left back.

Chelsea want as many as nine attacking options in the squad

Enzo Maresca clearly wasn’t fan of Chelsea’s attack last season, and the arrival of Delap, Gittens, and Pedro, plus Estevao Willian gives the Italian four new options.

Chelsea have lacked a clinical striker for a number of years, but Maresca has also insisted he would rather have multiple attackers contributing than just one player who scores 30-40 goals.

The Blues are currently at the Club World Cup and take on Palmeiras in the quarter finals on Friday night for a place in the last four.

Chelsea will be competing on four fronts next season and will return to the Champions League, with the squad game arguably never more important.

With the amount of games having serious strength in depth is vital, and Matt Law has reported in The Telegraph the Blues want to start next season with as many as nine attacking options in the squad.

The report adds the club haven’t ruled out adding another if Madueke is sold, and the winger is attracting interest from Arsenal.

Strong interest in Mohammed Kudus

Despite having already signed three attackers, the Blues are also interested in West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus.

Chelsea have held talks with the agent of Kudus, but it’s likely they will have to sell an attacker to make room in the squad for the Ghana international.

Fabrizio Romano has reported Chelsea are keeping an eye on the situation surrounding Kudus, with West Ham ready to cash in.

Kudus has an £85m release clause, but it’s thought the Hammers would be prepared to sell for around £60m, as they need to sell before they can buy.

  1. We just need kudus, osimen and one defender. Madueke, Nicholas, hall shld go to allow estavao to fit in well.

  2. Chelsea FC should also look into signing Malik Fofana if Mohamed kudus is becoming expensive
