Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah had a notable stat emerge from the team’s Club World Cup semi final win over Fluminense.
The centre back completed 57 of 57 passes against the Brazilians. After a performance like that it was only fair that Chalobah was the lucky player to end up with former teammate Thiago Silva’s shirt after the game.
Any doubts about his quality have surely vanished now. The club have tried to sell him year after year, but it now seems they realise what a mistake that would have been. Two years in a row he’s returned in the winter to show how important he can be to the team. Things could have been very different had he been trusted more.

Chalobah on Chelsea’s impressive run to the final

Overall, the defender was delighted with his team and what they had done to get to the final on Sunday:
“We’re over the moon. It’s been one of our goals since the first game of the tournament and it’s nice to get into the final,” Chalobah said of his team’s achievements.
“All we can manage is what happens on the pitch and the boys have done that well throughout this tournament. Now we have one more step.”
It won’t be an easy step, against a menacing PSG team.
Chalobah hoping for start to cement his first team starter status
The centre backs have been rotated pretty consistently through this tournament, with Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile and Tosin Adarabioyo all getting starting reps. With all of them available on Sunday, seeing who starts will be very instructive about Enzo Maresca’s plans for this season to come, as well as our potential transfer strategy for the summer.

I have no idea why we want to even think of letting Trevor leave. Chelsea’s power that be seem to relish in unthoughtful decisions.
For me I think Chelsea should not sell Trevor and sincerely speaking we don’t need another center defender, Chelsea can bring in one good left back.
You’ve one of the costliest player in Fofana on medical treatment for over a year without the club thinking on how to cut short their losses but the active one is being opted for market. This show that this new owners have the club for biz & not for the winning glories the fans are used to.
Please let the guy stay, the club has been threatening him with selling him out with no other player better than him in that position and he’s already an English international. Some of these managers can be very sentimental now cruel.
Chaloba is the most talented, most calculative and most strong player among the Chelsea’s central defence. I don’t understand the reason why they want to sell him.
whenever we’re in trouble defensively, he will be called upon, to the extent of calling him back from loan.
Had it been that they sold him during the transfer window, who would have been called during that January period.
there are some players in that defense who supposed to be let out but not Chaloba, who is one of our best defenders,
Not Chaloba, James, Cucurela, Adereb or Cowil
