Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Aaron Anselmino on a season loan according to Fabrizio Romano.
Anselmino joined Chelsea last summer in a deal worth around £15m from Argentine side Boca Juniors, and was loaned back for the season.
Chelsea took the decision to recall Anselmino in January, and he spent the second half of last season training with the Blues and adapting.
Aaron Anselmino to join Borussia Dortmund on loan
Anselmino made his Chelsea debut at the Club World Cup this summer, but he only played two minutes in the tournament.
It had been reported Chelsea weren’t 100% sure what their plan was for Anselmino, given Levi Colwill will miss the majority of the season with an ACL injury.

However, a decision has been taken, and Romano has confirmed Anselmino will join Bundesliga outfit Dortmund on a season loan.
He took to X.com and said:
“Aaron Anselmino to Borussia Dortmund from Chelsea, here we go!
“Deal agreed on loan, no buy option clause as Aaron will be back at Chelsea in June 2026. BVB will cover his salary…”
Anselmino had attracted loan interest from Real Betis, but a move to Dortmund will give him the opportunity to play Champions League football.
Dortmund also have a reputation for developing young players and giving them opportunities, so it will be interesting to see how Anselmino develops this season.
Chelsea face busy end to the transfer window
Whilst Chelsea are making good progress in regards to player sales and loans, they face a very busy end to the transfer window.
Chelsea still have a number of players they are looking to sell as we head into the final week of the transfer window.
The most important situation to resolve is the future of both Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku as they have a direct impact on whether Chelsea will be able to sign Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho.
Chelsea are also trying to find solutions for the likes of Ben Chilwell, Raheem Sterling, Axel Disasi and Tyrique George.

I hope they will keep Anselmino , he is one of the future young player that can be good and part of the first team in the future . They recalled him but not even given longer playing time . Now they loan up him . They’re short of CBs , does the manager doing it just to justify to get a new CB ? I hope Anselmino will be given a longer minutes of playing time and show he is a very good player. I don’t see my fav club Chelsea will win nor competitive for EPL and UCL the way the system plays . Just lucky to won the game against west ham . And lucky to get a drew against palace . The tactics and systems aren’t improving, no matter how talented the are but the selections and tactics isn’t good enough . Wait when they play elites team in premier league with this tactics . Spurs is getting there because they have a good manager, I think maresca is a pony . He just lucky Chelsea FC won the two hush hush tournament . Chelsea FC should have bought another striker because jao isn’t strong enough to hold up the ball upfront. His strength is number 10 , Delap is the proper striker that’s fight for the ball to hold up and link up play . They should have taken Sesko . Now Chelsea FC short of defender and striker . Guiu should have stayed and rotate with Delap. As I said jao Pedro isn’t the proper striker to fight for the ball , his strength comes from being number 10 . Chelsea FC should look on vardy as another striker, he will help CFc attack well . He is a veteran player and menace against any defenders . And he scored a lot .
Thank you for your advice , we are good . Keep your word to yourself ,marasca is good . If you mention five best coach in the world, you must call him , Remember he is world champion coach so what are you taking about. Please if don’t know what to say close your mouth
As long as Maresca is at Chelsea, they will not keep him. Maresca is a big racist. He doesn’t like African players. Delap and J. Pedro, neither of them are better than Jackson. That is the reason wants to leave, but remain in England. The real Jackson shall be seen when he leaves.
This is NOT not a fair comment. The coach likes Jackson very much but if selling him will boast Chelsea’s coffers and bring in strategic players that’s good business. Chelsea are working with a business plan with a precise strategy. Praying they sell all unwanted players before the D-day.
I am disappointed by your comment. Maresca blend Jackson as untouchable and give him a contract extension to 2033. It is not even a year, he’s about to sell him. How good is Sanchez, he has and cannot sell him? Mourinho, Thomas, Mauricio , Lampard, would never have requested the sale of Jackson. Maresca is racist, final.
What I to say, your opinion is yours as well as mine. But don’t insult me, please. Thanks!!
