There are two attacking transfers still pending for Chelsea this summer – moves for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho are on the shelf, waiting for the Blues to conclude some sales and free up ready money.
Another path for attacker hungry Chelsea
But what if we propose something different – forget Simons and Garnacho, and spend the money on Morgan Rogers instead?
Of course that would leave us with one player fewer – but right now that doesn’t feel like much of a problem. Joao Pedro showed last night he can be excellent as a 10. If we wanted to, we could just reintegrate Nicolas Jackson.
We think it’s an option that many fans would go for right now. Rogers is a top player, Premier League proven and at the right age.
Garnacho and Simons could go on to be great, but Rogers feels he’s already a tier above them. He had 14 goals and 13 assists in all competitions last season.
Chelsea should push for Rogers to add elite quality

GiveMeSport’s piece today claims that Chelsea are “tempted” to make an offer for the Aston Villa attacker, and that it would likely take £80m to make a deal happen.
That’s less than it would cost to sign Garnacho and Simons, without doubt. Villa are in a strong position with Rogers, given how long is left on his contract, but they’re also realistic about needing to sell a star here and there to make sure they can stay within PSR and continue to strengthen.
His wages, at a reported £75,000, are low enough that we can give him a big bump and not break out wage structure.
It may not be on the cards, but if you offered us Rogers over the other two, we’d take it.

Too expensive…. Simon and Garnacho at the right price will make Chelsea FC competitive . Though Chelsea FC is still needs a CBs and Another Striker . Delap and jao aren’t enough . They can get vardy for two hrs contract while Guiu on loan . Good luck for the rest of the season hopefully the club gets the trophies lift up again and again .
Rogers plus £30 m for Jackson and let him go, he’s been a waste of space again today.
Watkins not much better, serious changes have to be made, our complete lack of fire power is clear to see, and Emerie is costing us big time with his favouritism, we can forget about Europe,at this rate we will be lucky if we can avoid a relegation battle
