Enzo Maresca reveals one thing he’ll do before deciding if Garnacho will start Man United clash

Enzo Maresca has revealed he will hold talks with Alejandro Garnacho before deciding if he will start against Manchester United on Saturday.

Garnacho joined Chelsea from United in the summer for £40m, and has made two substitute appearances, but has yet to make his first start.

The Argentine will return to Manchester on Saturday evening no doubt keen to prove a point against his former club, and help the Blues secure a first win at Old Trafford since 2013.

Enzo Maresca to hold Alejandro Garnacho talks

Garnacho made it clear in the summer he only wanted to join Chelsea, and he’s shown promise in the limited minutes he’s played so far.

The 21-year-old has featured against Brentford and Bayern Munich, and Maresca confirmed Garnacho is ready to start for Chelsea.

Garnacho will no doubt be keen to start against United, but Maresca confirmed he will hold talks with the winger before making his final decision.

“Probably it is something that we have to think about,” he said as quoted by Football London.

“First of all, because he is young, so you don’t know how he can react.

“But also in case we decide to start with him, I will have a chat with him to ask also how he feels about that.”

Chelsea looking for first win at Old Trafford since 2013

Chelsea have made a good start to the season with two wins and two draws from their opening four games, but after dropping points against Brentford last time out, they will be looking to return to winning ways.

However, Old Trafford isn’t a happy hunting ground for Chelsea, and they will be hoping Maresca is the manager to deliver a first win at the famous ground since 2013.

Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw last season, with Moises Caicedo scoring the equaliser, and anything other than three points would go down as a major disappointment.
