Wayne Rooney was speaking on his podcast today about Liam Rosenior, his former assistant at Derby who is about to get his big break with a move to manage Chelsea.
Details will prove to players that Rosenior is cut out for big time says Rooney
When asked what Rosenior’s big strengths were, Rooney was very clear
“Details, details of coaching and how he works. His work ethic is incredibl:e,” Rooney said of his old colleague.
“I don’t think there will be any issue with dealing with top players from that point of view. I just think his detail is top, and he deserves it. I know people might question it, because Liam Rosenior wasn’t me as a footballer. He had a great career at the top level to that extent in terms of Champions League. But what he is is a top, top coach and hopefully the Premier League gets to see that.”
It’s comforting to hear that. It’s our one fear and reservation about the appointment, which is otherwise very exciting. If all goes well, it will be great. But if things fall apart, Rosenior doesn’t have the medals to fall back on, and faith from the fans and players could drain away very quickly if he struggles early on.
Now it’s just a question of waiting for the appointment and waiting to see what impact he makes.

Rooney actually went on to say that Rosenior is up there with the very best coaches he’s worked with – pretty amazing considering some of the names in the former England striker’s past.

If rosenior will confirm has the new manager he should be given a more time to engage his wits to manage and coach this group of players . I hope he will use different tactics on every game not stuck in one system . This month Chelsea FC should get a quality experience CB like Joel ordonez and if the club looking for another midfielder with a experience in EPL they should get jao gomes of wolves . Its time to play Santos and Hato . Hato should be playing as CB and DCM even Acheampong . The new manager should play them , rotation is good as long it uses it right .
