Pedro Neto is only midway through his second season at Chelsea, but such is modern football that there’s already a lot of frustration about his play, and rumours already circulating about his exit.
Any Chelsea fans keen to see that happen should perhaps be a bit realistic. TeamTalk’s Graeme Bailey today had put out a piece making it sound very unlikely indeed.
Neto still a key figure for Chelsea going forward
Neto joined the Blues from Wolves in August 2024 for around £55m. He’s racked up 16 goals and 13 assists in 88 appearances so far. Of all the wingers we’ve had over the last two years, he’s been by far the most consistent in terms of appearances. He’s been a first team regular under Enzo Maresca and now Liam Rosenior.
There is competition now – Estevao Willian is a menace, and Geovany Quenda arrives next summer. But both are very young, and Neto is an experienced Premier League player.
“BlueCo view Neto as a model professional and remain convinced he brings qualities to the squad that are not easily replaced,” claims Bailey’s piece, shooting down any hints of a move to Atletico Madrid which have been whispered about in recent days.
We can’t rule anything out – just look at Noni Madueke last year. But a transfer this summer looks very unlikely.

One player taking a fair bit of flak recently has been Alejandro Garnacho. Fans want to see more, and Liam Rosenior has even been forced to defender him pretty openly in recent press conferences.
Cole Palmer’s late miss was a shocker – Chelsea could have had the three points they deserved had he put it away. But as you’d expect, Liam Rosenior was hardly going to lay into his star attacker, who had more than done his part in the game.
I hope they will keep him ( Neto ) estavio and quenda still young they need time but they both have a regular long minutes to play for fast traction their development in EPL . We all know the physical fast pace of EPL , skills isn’t enough needs physically strengthening . Chelsea team needs fast pace player in central midfield. Like Norwegian player Caleb and a left winger iliman Senegalese. Get experience CB like senisi and LB and RB . Hato should play regularly now .
