Outlet points towards inexperienced hierarchy as main cause of Chelsea’s issues

The Independent have put out an article this weekend detailing what they believe is the cause of Chelsea’s problems.

The Blues are hanging on to 6th place by a thread now after losing their last four games in the league in a row. The Champions League spaces are looking more and more impossible by the day, and the best they might now end up with is a Europa League spot, which is far from good enough.

Manager Liam Rosenior is obviously under fire because lets be honest, he is WELL out of his depth. But it is the people above him who are on the end of the blame for where Chelsea are as a club right now, and rightly so.

Inexperienced hierarchy indeed

Chris Wilson of The Independent says:

‘While Rosenior will face plenty of criticism for a string of poor performances that have yielded four losses in a row without scoring in the league for the first time since 1998, it is too easy to direct anger at a manager who is becoming a scapegoat for problems far beyond his control.

‘Rosenior remains the face of Chelsea for the media and fans, and it is unavoidable that he’ll face anger and criticism from sections of the fanbase, though in reality, few of the problems at the club are his doing, and nor can he remedy them yet.

‘The forced sale to the new BlueCo ownership promised plenty, and though headlines of excessive transfer spending were enough to quell initial fears and provide fans some excitement, that hit of dopamine has long subsided, instead leaving the reality of an inexperienced hierarchy managing an equally inexperienced squad that lacks depth in key areas.

‘While the ownership long seemed more content to tie players to long contracts to preserve and hopefully increase their value, it has left the Blues with a squad that great potential, but few reliable superstars in the starting XI as well as depth on the bench.

‘That Club World Cup win was followed by a string of questionable signings this summer, and even though the likes of Jamie Gittens clearly possess talent, there’s a feeling that Stamford Bridge is not currently a place where players can grow into that talent.’

In other news today

Liam Delap has said Chelsea have the belief they can finish in the top five and win the FA Cup despite their struggles this season. I’d like some of his positivity!

And on Delap, we are already hearing the excuses about why he has not been playing well in a Chelsea shirt since arriving in the summer. We’re all tired of excuses to be honest.

  1. Time to replace Rosenior … He has no adjustments to fight back to win games . Player’s aren’t sold on his tactical system … The club suffered too much , I hope the hierarchy should act now before too late . This club needs UCL and of course winning the EPL .. step in JT with McFarlane as interim then get Felipe Luiz as permanent head coach but hierarchy should not interfering on head coach managing the squad/ team let him alone just support him what sort of players he needs to build strong team not only competitive but be champions . Next game Brighton another tough game for the club . 3 man midfield should apply for . Play Acheampong with Caceido and Lavia . Palmer in LW with freedom to marauding the midfield . Keep Hato in LCB, make Acheampong protect back four that’s his opportunity to get develop his defence . Two pivot of caceido and Enzo been broken and Palmer being 10 the opposition reads the tactical approach of the team should be adjusted every game .

  2. Chelsea need an experienced manager, blend players meaning young and experienced players and the performances will be top.

  3. Blue Co need to refresh their knowledge of Chelsea. recently In five games, four of which were defeats, they have conceded 14 goals, as many as they conceded in the whole Premier League season of 2004/05. At that time they had a proper goalkeeper and a proper defence that knew how to defend; Petr Čech, Paulo Ferreira, Ricardo Carvalho, John Terry, William Gallas with Claude Makélélé at their head. Of these, three went on to be, arguably the best in their position the Premier League has seen, Petr Čech, John Terry and Claude Makélélé.
Blue Co’s position on youth is irrelevant, it is their choice of players. At that time Čech was 22, Ferreira 25, Carvalho 26, Terry 24, Gallas 28 & Makélélé 31. Whilst the last two were a bit older the rest would comfortably fit into Blue Co’s current age project.
They have made the fatal mistake of having big pockets, wanting to spend but then buying inferior products. They stripped the club of all of its football knowledge, getting rid of a successful, higher-level staff and then thinking they could replace them with a total novice who had absolutely zero knowledge of the game. They continually make the same mistakes, loading some positions with inferior players and not addressing the serious need for other positions where there are inadequate incumbents in place.
