Plenty of people have questioned the mentality and commitment of this Chelsea squad, and you can see why. In games they crumble far too easily, and their lack of effort under Liam Rosenior was shameful.
We will find out a lot about them tomorrow night when we play Tottenham at home. It’s not just a question of playing for pride, it’s a chance to put our old rivals back in relegation trouble. In his press conference today, caretaker manager Calum McFarlane was asked if he thought his group appreciated how big this is.
Calum McFarlane backs his players to show heart and desire
“Their heart and desire have been questioned in the last few weeks,” McFarlane said of his players.
“I think they’ve shown in the last few games that for me that’s not an issue. Everyone knows the rivalry between Chelsea and Tottenham, but ultimately both teams have got a lot to play for.”
“I don’t think we’re going to have to do anything extra, especially with the motivation. We want to be getting six points from our next two games. I think they need a point to almost guarantee safety.”
Let’s hope that’s true.
In other news…
Xabi Alonso has to fix his dressing room this summer – they gave up on our last coach, and there are clearly some bad apples in there.
Alonso’s other main concern is which players to sell – there’s a growing list of them he likely want to get rid of this summer.

Get rid off the bad fruit from inside and outside of the club . Then rebuild the team not to be competitive but be a Champion of EPL and then get the UCL for next year . But has the tools to make it by a tweak of replacing deadwood players . As I watched the final of FA cup . This club needs to get two quality CBs one from FA and one to buy . Then new additional CMs ( Barco) then strong LW and quick skills dribblers that can cross the ball . a RB solid defender with quickness to dribble the ball and good crosser of the ball . Then strong Striker that demolish the defence of the opposition . Send Jorgensen to Strasbourg and bring back pender as number 1 and Sanchez number 2 . I hope next season it’s time to lift up the EPL … Not just to qualify for UCL but onslaught to win the EPL at all cause . Build the entire squad solid . Don’t loan up Acheampong and Sarr as will as essugo and Santos . But give them a playing time regularly . I hope six points for the two last games left . Good luck for the remaining two games and God Bless always CFc … Lasting Cucu not happy as he used to, needs a better replacement . Hato should be playing regularly , he show’s his quality and good for the team at younger ages .
