Chelsea now keen on signing Barcelona midfielder and it’s not Fermín López

Chelsea are reportedly keen now on signing a Barcelona midfielder, and it is not Fermín López who Chelsea wanted.

Over the summer transfer window, Chelsea were heavily linked with wanting to sign Lopez and there was certainly some talks and negotiations happening there. But in the end, he decided to stay at Barcelona and continue there for now.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea thinking about selling new signing who’s not even arrived yet in favour of another new arrival!!

Chelsea were on the hunt for another attacking midfielder but of course in the end signing Facundo Buonnanote from Brighton on a loan move instead. It was all rather strange and Chelsea looked a bit desperate as they had been trying to sign Xavi Simons all summer but then he got bored of waiting and joined Tottenham. It wasn’t a great look for Chelsea.

But now they are apparently in for another Barcelona midfielder and could soon be making an attempt to sign him.

Chelsea in for Bernal

According to Fichajes, Chelsea are interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal.

As per a report from Fichajes:

‘Chelsea have begun to make moves in the market after failing to sign Fermín López and are now turning their attention to Marc Bernal.’

Bernal is an 18-year-old defensive midfielder who stands at 6ft 4in tall already and is a real engine in the middle of the park.

Chelsea of course have Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Andrey Santos, and Dario Essugo already in the ranks who play in that position so I’m not sure there is much at all in this report. Unless of course he would be a player for the future who they would loan out, maybe to sister club Strasbourg, and look to bring him into the Chelsea squad at a later date.
