Hazard targets next season’s Champions League final

Chelsea and Belgium winger Eden Hazard is looking to help the West London club reach the UEFA Champions League final next season after they were dumped out of this season’s competition in the last-16 to Ligue 1 side, Paris Saint-Germain.

Hazard, 24, won both the Premier League and League Cup double, while also claiming personal silverware with the PFA and Football Writers’ Player of the Year awards.

But, the Belgian has had to watch the Champions League final between Barcelona and Juventus from the sidelines and is adamant that Chelsea are ready to be involved in next season’s finale.

“It’s always good to see the final, but it’s better if you play in it,” he told Sky Sports.

This season it was not [to be] for Chelsea, but I hope next season we will be in the final.

Chelsea flew off to both Thailand and Australia immediately after the Premier League season ended, and Hazard will now be involved for Belgium’s international double-header against France and Wales.

“I am a little bit tired but I am ready to play in both the games,” he added. “I want to go on holiday, but I still have one week to work and to win the games.”
