Rumours of Chelsea fans’ plan for Bayern revenge banner

There are rumours doing the rounds that Chelsea fans are planning a banner in response to the famously hubristic effort from Bayern in 2012.

That year saw the Blues go to Munich to play the Champions League final, winning the trophy against Bayern in their own stadium after an intense game followed by an even more intense penalty shootout.

Before the game that year, the fans in the Allianz Arena held up a “tifo” which read (in German) – “our city, our stadium, our cup.”

Of course, we all know what happened next…

Now there are whispers on Twitter that Blues fans, in the first game we’ve played at home against the Bavarians since that final, are planning a cheeky response.

We hope they don’t go too overboard – it would be embarrassing to make fun of them and then lose heavily – but we certainly think we’re due a cheeky dig in return. It’s only fair!
