It is absolutely crazy out there right now in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic, but today UEFA intend to continue with their meeting to decide what will happen with a number of their competitions including the Champions League and the European Championships this summer.
It is likely that clubs will ask them to postpone the International Championships back to 2021, so that they can complete the domestic leagues this summer.
This could become costly for these clubs, according to a report via The Athletic.
They say that European football’s governing body will demand compensation of about £275 million from its clubs and leagues to postpone Euro 2020 by a year.
These costs will be split across the clubs and leagues and the fee is what they say it will cost to postpone the event.
It really is quite ludicrous if true, in the face of the biggest global pandemic that most of us have ever experienced and they are just concerned about money. Not cool.
