Game Week 2 Premier League Round Up

Here is Week 2 round up minus last seasons top 2 Man City and Liverpool as they play each other tomorrow night.

It was 2 wins out of 2 for the mighty Blues seeing off Leicester to sit 2nd on the BPL. With Tottenham & Swansea City the only other two teams to keep their 100% record.

Chelsea 2-0 Leicester

Chelsea v Leicester City - Premier League

The first home games of the season for the blues and just like like week, it was against promoted side but this time in the frame of Leicester City. All didn’t got Mourinho way as the 1st half stayed 0-0 with the blues not registering a shot on target. The 2nd half looked like a whole different Chelsea, but before the blues broke the deadlock they had to call on Courtois to save a 1v1 which he did cooly. Our new £32million striker broke the dead lock with a cool finish from 5yards out. Soon after our new #10 Eden Hazard pulled off a superb strike to make it a comfortable 2-0 finish for the blues.

Sunderland 1-1 Man United

The new reign of Louis Van Gaal is proving to not be as successful as first thought, with a visit to what seems to be a difficult and new Stadium of Light. United took the lead thanks to a cool tap in to ex blues favourite Juan Mata, but that lead didn’t last long with newly recruited Jack Rodwell pulling one bac for the host. Sunderland defended a strong of United attacks to keep it 1-1

Tottenham 4-0 QPR

Harry Redknapp’s return to his formal employees turnt out to be his worse nightmare with his side conceded 4 very well worked goals. Young 3 lion Eric Dier was on the scoresheet once again, with the other goals coming from Adebayor and 2 from Chadli

Everton 2-2 Arsenal

Everton v Arsenal - Premier League

The blue side of merseyside had to once again settle for a goal fested 2-2 draw. The host took a 2-0 lead thanks to Coleman and Naismith. It was looking for a win for Everton as the game got to the last 10, for Ramsey to get a goal back and start the Arsenal rampage. Arsenal only recognised striker on the day scored an unlikely header to pulled the 2-2 with the hosts.

Aston Villa 0-0 Newcastle

The 30,000+ attendance at Villa park was disappointed to see a 0-0 draw against two of the busy teams in the transfer market. Villa are obviously missing their Belgium striker in Benteke as their shots to goals ratio is poor. Alan Pardews side showed more accuracy this game round with actually registering a shot on target.

Southampton 0-0 West Brom

Ronald Koeman first home match as manager of Southampton didn’t turn out with the win he wanted, although there were a lot of positives from his team considering the amount of summer departures, newly signings Tadic and Pelle wasted chance after chance as they tried to break down the baggies defence. West Brom however were happy to take a draw away from St Mary’s.

Crystal Palace 3-1 West Ham

Crystal Palace v West Ham United - Premier League

Still with no manager, Palace were positive to register their first win of their season in a second London derby of their campaign. After a disappointing loss on their first day, West Ham were looking to take advantage of Palace situation, which they did by taking a 2-0 lead into half time courtesy of a first goal for Zarate and an unlikely goal from Downing. Palace came out with a reply straight after the break, with Chamakh scoring against his old team, only for Carlton Cole to wrap things up for The Hammers in a 3-1 win.

Hull City 1-1 Stoke City

After a disappointing loss in Europe during the week, Hull wanted to show their fans that their new recruits have a spirit shown last season, but things didn’t get off too good when the hero of last match Chester, was sent off with 14mins of play! However this meee bothered Hull as they took the lead through Jelavic just before the interval. Stoke came out the 2nd half knowing the home team would defend their lead due to being a man less and showed that you will break a defence if you carry on trying, their luck came so close to 90mins when Shawcross shot crossed the line in what was a very untidy goal but the most the away team earned.

Swansea 1-0 Burnley

The Swans were on a high after beating United on the opening day, but knew they had tough opponents in Burnley who had something to prove after an opening day defeat to Chelsea. With a game of many chances, there was only 1 goal to show it, Dyer latching on to a through ball after Sigurdsson dance around the defence. The Clarets were the better team in the 2nd half but Swansea showed why South Wales is a tough place to go.

See you next week!
