Eden Hazard not a doubt for Boxing Day despite cancelling his holidays

Chelsea players and staff were given three days off after Saturday’s win over Crystal Palace, with the majority of the squad not hesitating to zip back to their homeland (Diego Costa), on a romantic Christmas break (Thibaut Courtois) or just off to somewhere in the gulf (pretty much everyone else).

One player who didn’t go anywhere is Eden Hazard. The winger picked up a problem in the game against West Brom and missed the midweek game at Sunderland.

While he returned in time for the game against Palace, clearly the medical staff at Cobham aren’t 100% happy with his condition as they’ve forced him to cancel any travel plans he may have had in order to keep him nearby for tests and rehab- according to the Sun.

While it’s a shame for Eden that he has missed a well earned holiday, at least we now know he will be in the best possible condition for Monday night. With Diego Costa and N’Golo Kante out injured, that’s a very good thing.
