Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has been ruled out for the rest of the season after reports that he was going to have surgery on his knee were confirmed by sources close to the club.
We don’t know yet how severe the injury is, or how invasive the surgery, but it’s not good news for a player who tore his ACL not long ago.
He bounced back from that however, and this is likely to be much more minor.

It has yet to be conformed by the club, but it’s surely just a matter of time before they acknowledge that the German international will be going back to his former city Rome to have the procedure.
This adds to the pain of Callum Hudson-Odoi’s achilles tear too. All these games we’ve played this season are clearly starting to drag these players down.
As per @SamiMokbel81_DM Antonio Rudiger will have knee surgery in Rome. Blow for Chelsea
