Eden Hazard has won a double gong at the Chelsea season awards, scooping both the goal of the year and the player of the year awards.
His solo effort against Liverpool, one of the top goals by any team this season, won him the goal award.
He’s been utterly brilliant this season, just like last. This was potentially his best ever campaign for us, and very possibly his last.
While he collected the award, someone in the crowd shouted “sign the contract”, and the Belgian, quick as a flash, responded “where’s the pen?”
Please don’t joke Eden, those are our hearts you’re playing with. If he does go to Real Madrid this summer, as has been rumoured for so long, this would truly be the perfect way to say goodbye.
Sophie Ingle won the women’s players player of the year, and Erin Cuthbert the women’s player of the year.
It’s a hat-trick of awards for @HazardEden10, who wins the @YokohamaCFC Player of the Year! ✨#CFCAwards19 pic.twitter.com/BDfFtGnuqg
