Priority transfer target to ask to leave club and join Chelsea

Chelsea are working hard in the transfer market ready for a mini squad rebuild this summer.

They have already added Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech to the ranks, and more arrivals are expected at Stamford Bridge.

One area they are working on improving as a priority is left full back.

Frank Lampard is a keen admirer of Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell, who is largely reported as a priority for that position.

The Daily Mirror have released an exclusive on this late last night, and they believe that the England international will ask his club this week if he can leave and join Chelsea this summer.

The 23-year old ‘sees his long-term future at Chelsea’ and he also wants to play in the Champions League next season.

Leicester only qualified for the Europa League, narrowly missing out on Champions League football on the final day of the season.

Chelsea qualified for Europe’s most prestigious competition by beating Wolves 2-0 on the final day, and they are also still in this seasons competition by the skin of their teeth.

They face a 3-0 deficit against Bayern Munich, who they play in the second leg next month.
