Trevoh Chalobah finds perfect loan location as he steps up to Ligue 1

Chelsea youngster Trevoh Chalobah has joined Lorient on loan.

The French club announced the move this afternoon with a video referencing their maritime connections, as you can see embedded here:

The midfielder, who can also play as a central defender, has had two really successful loans in a row – first at Ipswich and then at Huddersfield.

There he has proven himself as a capable Championship level player, and still just 21, he has room to improve further.

It always seemed likely that the club would try and find him a higher level loan after he showed such promise, and this should be a great fit.

Lorient were promoted to Ligue 1 last season, and face a serious challenge to keep their place in the top flight.

Chalobah may not be able to make the difference on his own, but his new team can certainly count on endless commitment and concentration in the middle of the park for as long as he’s there.

Good luck, Trev!
