Club captain says Chelsea loanee has “been fantastic” and he’s “tipping him to be a top, top player”

Chelsea have a wrath of top players either coming through the ranks at the club, or out on loan getting valuable senior experience at other clubs.

One player that the club have high hopes for is England under-21 midfielder Conor Gallagher.

The 20-year old has already enjoyed successful loan spells with Charlton Athletic and Swansea City in the Championship last season. But now he is plying his trade and getting vital Premier League experience at West Brom this season.

Gallagher is already creating waves in the early stages of his Albion career, and the club captain Jake Livermore is more than pleased with what he has seen so far.

He is so confident in the ability of Gallagher he has tipped him to become a ‘top player’.

Speaking to the West Brom website, Livermore said:

“Conor’s been fantastic for me.

“His energy levels and quality in training every day is a steal for us and I’m tipping him to be a top, top player.

“He wants to learn and has great ability going forward, but on the flip side he’s more than responsible at tracking back and he’s just got bags of energy.

“The athleticism that he’s got is what the game is becoming now and he’s got that in abundance.

“He’s been very impressive and I think he can be a really important player for us this season.”
