“For sure” – Pochettino answers whether Romelu Lukaku will return to Chelsea

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has been asked about the future of striker Romelu Lukaku and whether he will return to the club when his loan move ends this summer.

It’s been heavily reported over recent months that a new striker is most likely going to be the transfer priority for Chelsea in the summer window, and as we know, Lukaku is still a Chelsea striker even if he has been out on loan the last couple of seasons.

EXCLUSIVE! ‘Strong chance’ Chelsea stick with Pochettino, Chalobah ‘happy’ at Chelsea but will leave for one condition, Sterling wants to stay, Updates on Olise, Osimhen, Sesko, Ferguson, Kerkez, more…

Lukaku fell out with the then Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, and he did that infamous interview halfway through the season. He annoyed Chelsea fans, many of whom will never accept him back at the club. But would Pochettino accept him back?

Well, it seems that he would…

The Blues boss had more embargoed quotes released from his pre-match press conference for Arsenal late last night, and there was a question about the future of Lukaku.

“He’s a Chelsea player, so for sure we will pay attention,” Pochettino replied when asked about Lukaku.

“It’s an option. But still we did not take any decision.”

Could the impossible actually happen? Could Lukaku, a guy who has seemingly fallen out of love with Chelsea and seemingly never wanted to play for them again, return and wear the Blues shirt once again? It still seems very impossible for me.

Chelsea need a striker

We are still absolutely missing more of a complete number 9. Nicolas Jackson is doing well, but he is the only 9 we have at this club and you absolutely need two out and out strikers if you want to compete back at the very top again.

We also lack more of a target man profile, a striker to be a focal point and lead the line. Is Lukaku the answer? Let’s just say I’d be very sceptical…..

  1. If pochettino can manage him and his good for this young talented team give him a chance . His good partner for Jackson / NKunKu/ mudryk . Plus if his heart willing to play for Chelsea FC .

  2. Poch need to have a conversation with him one on one if possible… If he still has the blue then he is good to go…. We all know how good Lukaku is especially now that we have Palmer to feed him.

  3. To me Lukaku is a better option, Chelsea are not going to pay any transfer fee for him. Let him come and the club can still get a new top class Stricker to make that role competitive and provide more options for the coach.

  4. Mudryk should be sold he was a waste of money it hasn’t worked out for him that last opportunity against city from a free kick he over thinks or plays which is hard on someone who wishes to shine

  5. To me Romelu Lukaku is the option. I consider him and love to see him again. Pochettino should probably engage in a one on one conversation with Lukaku and take it from there.

  6. I no longer feel my club. If the guy is happy out there, let him stay out of the club. Why force him?. Jackson is also playing poorly. We just need another guy

  7. Apart from the Champions league win, Tuchel does more harm to Chelsea than good.
Well, as it stand, it’s becoming more clear that Chelsea won’t make Europe next season. Instead of selling Gallagher and Chalouba to raise money, I think it’s better to call back Lukaku and keep Gallagher and Chalouba. Chelsea should rather do away with Disasi and Badiashile and get one world class center back instead

    1. I think your actually rite apart from the TT part……how can you say that when TT was the person that made chelsea not religated last season??????…….neither Lampard or potter togerher didn’t get enough points as TT b4 he was sacked…..our best option is to sack director & manager & replace them…….go bk in for TT & chelsea will be back…..am sure a lot of these players in the starting line up wont even make the bence……

    2. Don’t forget lukalu didn’t say TT in his interview he said chelsea……this big head shit brain boy should never play for chelsea ever again……..and if he play for chelsea next season that shows me the level the club as fallen to & i’m use to backing a ton club with winning mentallity so the 1st time i see him on the pitch i would unfollow every chelsea site & vlogger & never pay to watch a chelsea match ever again & distroy my season ticket…..that guy shouldn’t even be in the dressing room much less on the pitch

  8. Chelsea shouldn’t waste another million on the new striker again cos if they buy another striker and he eventually flob what can we do another that again but we should call back lukaku and he just need to brainwash cos he is an experience player he has played for 3-4 teams in England we just need kukaku plz
