Champions League team chase loan for 16 G/A Chelsea talent who is ready to step up

While the focus at Chelsea is very much on our managerial situation, behind the scenes the cogs will be turning on some moves for players too.

While we don’t expect any major deals in or out in the imminent future, at least beyond the announcement of Estevao Willian’s signing, there are definitely talks taking place all through the squad with players and their agents sorting out their futures.

One interesting rumours that’s bubbled up today comes from Sky Germany, who claim that Omari Hutchinson is a loan target for several Bundesliga teams, with both Borussia Monchengladbach and Stuttgart mentioned.

The young winger earned promotion from the Championship with Ipswich last season, coming on leaps and bounds in his development through the season, and now wants the chance to take a step up. After their phenomenal campaign concluded in a second placed finish, Stuttgart look a great option, and the Sky report says that discussions with them are “well advanced.”

If Hutchinson gives it the green light, given it’s a loan move, it could be wrapped up very quickly. He got 16 G/A last season, showing some proper end product and proving his ability to play every week.

A solid but natural step up to the next level

Perhaps it’s just the example of Jadon Sancho that sticks in the mind, but for some reason a move to Germany just feels like a good one and the right one for Hutchinson.

He wants a step up from the Championship, and Germany provides that without the risks of joining a Premier League team where you’re likely to have to battle for minutes every single week.

The Bundesliga is a nice open league where a dynamic attacking player can shine, and Stuttgart will even have Champions League football next season, so there will be plenty of minutes to be shared around.

Loans are notoriously hard to predict, but this one has some promise to it.
