Chelsea ‘have asked’ – Journalist updates on some key summer transfer news

A top insider journalist has offered a key transfer update on the summer transfer window involving Chelsea, who we know are expected to be pretty busy again this summer, as they were in the last summer.

Chelsea didn’t do any business in January, which could have been tactical in order to stay in line with financial rules within the game, but it also may point towards the fact that they wanted to wait until the summer to do any of their big bits of business and get a few more new arrivals into the club. We know they need to sell, and we expect some big players sales in June before the end of that month in order to stay in line with those regulations and balance the books.

Chelsea will sign players though, and a new striker and a new centre back are two of the most linked positions that they will look to bring in right now.

At the back of the pitch, there has been a fairly new name linked with Chelsea in the shape of Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo.

The 26-year-old will become a free agent himself at the end of this season, which makes him a pretty attractive target for clubs who are looking to balance the books and that may need to also buy in other positions and need to save on their budget.

Chelsea are the latest club alongside the likes of AC Milan and Newcastle to be linked with the former England youth international.

Insider Ben Jacobs has recently posted an update on this situation via his X account.

Jacobs says Adarabioyo is yet to decide his next club. Some suitors, like Newcastle United are already in talks, but Adarabioyo could wait to see which clubs get European football. Chelsea have asked on Adarabioyo but they haven’t made an offer to date, per Jacobs. Tottenham are still possible, but Milan are looking less likely.
