Chelsea the latest club to be linked with out of contract Fulham star

Chelsea are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Fulham centre back Tosin Adarabioyo this summer according to reports.

With Thiago Silva leaving at the end of the season and question marks surrounding the future of Trevoh Chalobah, the Blues are expected to strengthen at the back this summer.

Chelsea have been very poor defensively this season, conceding a club record 59 goals in the Premier League, with four games still remaining, but did keep a clean sheet against Tottenham last time out.

Chelsea interested in Fulham centre back

Chelsea have been linked with a number of centre backs ahead of the transfer window opening, and reportedly have interest in Sporting Lisbon’s Ousmane Diomande and Lille’s Leny Yoro.

However, recent reports have linked the Blues with Adarabioyo who is out of contract at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old has established himself as a key player for Marco Silva’s side following their promotion from the Championship in 2022.

Adarabioyo is out of contract in the summer and isn’t expected to sign a new deal with Fulham.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano took to X to confirm the Blue’s interest and said: “Understand Chelsea as well as Newcastle are among clubs informed on conditions of the deal to sign Tosin Adarabioyo as free agent.

“Several clubs are asking for conditions of potential free signing, but no formal proposal made.

“Tosin will take his time to decide his future.”

Signing Adarabioyo would make a lot of sense given he has Premier League experience, something that is lacking in the current Chelsea squad and wouldn’t cost any money.

He started his career at Manchester City, but left for Fulham after failing to break into the first team at the Etihad and has since gone on to impress at Craven Cottage making 132 appearances.

With Silva’s deaprture Chelsea will have Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi and Chalobah as their centre back options, meaning another would have to leave to make space for a new signing in that position.
