An up and down season for Chelsea ended on a high with the club securing a top six finish and a return to European competition next season.
Despite a difficult first half of the campaign which saw the Blues win just three of their first ten league games, the second half saw a huge improvement.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side finished with five wins in a row for the first time under the new ownership and were the fourth best side in 2024 with only Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool taking more points.
Considering the mess the club was in after finishing 12th last season, it’s likely most Chelsea fans would have taken a top six finish and two trips to Wembley.
Whilst it’s not where Chelsea want to be and no one is celebrating sixth place, the difference in feeling at the end of this campaign compared to last is night and day, and huge progress has been made.
In fact Chelsea improved more than any other side this season compared to last, scoring a league high 19 more points than in 2022/2023.
There’s a long way to go but Chelsea are on the right path and heading in the right direction towards where the club needs to be.
